The role of the Planning Commission is to review applications for various land use entitlements and design review as set forth in planning and zoning laws of the city and the state. Commissioners may not serve on any other appointed City board or committee, except for those positions specified by the Municipal Code. The Planning Commission's powers and duties are established by Chapter 2.20 of the Municipal Code.

How to Apply for Membership on the Planning Commission

Applications to become a Planning Commissioner may be obtained weekdays at the Administration Office at the City Hall at 420 Litho Street, by requesting an application by calling 289-4130, or by emailing Applicants are interviewed and appointed by the City Council. Applications are accepted for any Board/Commission year-round and are kept on file for ONE year after receipt of application.

Length of Term: 3 years
Meetings: See Calendar of Events listed below. The Planning Commission meets at 6:30 PM in the City Council Chambers at City Hall.
Residency Requirements: Must be a resident of Sausalito
