  • The Sausalito Community and Economic Development Study was commissioned under a partnership between the City of Sausalito and the Sausalito Chamber of Commerce. The Study includes an evaluation of Sausalito’s retail and non-retail industries, a planning tool for estimating the economic benefits from new and expanding companies in Sausalito, and recent Census data on business and employee demography. The Study’s appendices provide detailed comparisons between Sausalito and Marin County, as well as the results of a survey of Sausalito residents and businesses regarding Sausalito’s future.

  • Have you dreamed of starting a business in Sausalito? We look forward to working with you and helping you get started. We have prepared a Business Start-Up Guide which provides an overview of what Sausalito offers a prospective business and how to work with City Hall, including planning, permitting, and licensing requirements.

  • In January 2011 the Short-Term Business Needs Study, which examined the physical inventory of retail, office and industrial space throughout the city was prepared. Its purpose was to determine the current mix of retail industry businesses in Sausalito and to assess the current, commercial real estate vacancy situation. The Study assessed vacancies in three industry areas: retail, office/design, and industrial. The Study was updated in July 2011.
