Extra Trash Pickups

Non-Recyclable Stuff

FREE CURBSIDE TRASH PICKUPS, TWICE A YEAR
Every year, Bay Cities Refuse provides two free, special pickups for residents. There is a limit of one cubic yard per free pickup (this is the equivalent of 7 garbage cans or plastic bags). BCRS does not take metal, bricks, concrete, rocks, furniture, mattresses, large appliances and the like as these items might damage the packing mechanism on the trucks. Remember to keep recyclable yard waste separate so that it can be greencycled.

SPECIAL REQUEST CURBSIDE TRASH PICKUP
Extra trash may be placed curbside on your normal garbage day. There is an additional charge of $3 per plastic bag or $18 per cubic yard. This charge will be noted on your next bill. However, you must telephone Bay Cities Refuse Service at 415-332-3646 and request this curbside pickup the day before your normal garbage pickup day. All trash must be in returnable containers or non-returnable plastic bags. Again, they won’t take metal, bricks, concrete, rocks, furniture, mattresses, large appliances and the like as these items might damage the packing mechanism on the trucks.

DEBRIS BOXES
Debris box sizes of 7, 15, 20 and 30 cubic yards are available from Bay Cities Refuse Service. Call 415-332-3646 for prices and to schedule delivery. Bay Cities Refuse Service is the only company franchised to do this type of business in Sausalito.

"THE DUMP"
Almost everything else you would like to dispose of can be handled at one or more of the dumps in the county. Tires, mattresses, appliances, furniture, metal, etc., can be disposed of by special arrangement with Bay Cities or at the San Rafael or Novato dumps. Charges vary by item, but range form $3.50 to $30 per item or cubic yard. The Novato dump is further away, but less expensive. However, Novato will not take anything toxic. See below for directions to these dump sites, what they take and their telephone numbers. Please make sure you call ahead for details if you are unsure of the disposal requirements. Refer to Where's the Dump? The Hazardous Waste Place for directions, telephone numbers and hours of operation.
