The Library Speaker Series is a gem we can all be proud of. It features local authors, museum docents and other speakers of interest to the community. Recent topics have ranged widely – Andy Warhol, social entrepreneurship, Bay Area railways, Iranian art and politics, and lightning in Yosemite. The talks are held in the Council Chambers. Attendance is typically a comfortable 30 to 40 people. One exception was a talk on houseboats accompanied by a sale of Phil Frank’s book, “Houseboats of Sausalito.” That one drew a standing room only crowd of well over 100.
