Community Development

The Community Development Department is responsible for guiding the physical development of the City including all public and private building projects. It achieves this by preparing and implementing the General Plan, detailed sub-plans and supporting ordinances; administering the development and building permit approval process including the application of the Uniform Building Codes; design and construction control of public improvement projects; inspecting all in-progress construction projects; and enforcing adherence to the City's health, safety and environmental codes as they relate to the physical environment.

The Department is comprised of the following divisions:
