The Parks and Recreation Commission meets regularly at 6:30 PM on the third Wednesday of each month. The Parks and Recreation Commission consists of five members appointed by the City Council. Each member is appointed for a three year term. The purpose of the Commission is to advise the City Council on development and maintenance of the City’s parks and on broad-based recreation programs. Commissioners also participate in variety of special events sponsored by the Sausalito Parks & Recreation Department such as the annual Caledonia Street Fair, Easter Parade, Fourth of July Celebration, Halloween Parade and Chili Cook-Off. The Commission has also been very successful in promoting and receiving input on various recreation services from the public and advises the Parks & Recreation Department based on the community’s feedback.

 

Length of Term: 3 years

Requirements: Must be a resident of Sausalito
